1) INEC/APC Faceoff: Zamfara May Lose N3bn As Residents Express Concern


It is not yet uhuru for the Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) as the expected legal action to redeem their chance of presenting candidates for the 2019 general elections might be a long wait after all.

Naturally, it is expected that Zamfara chapter of APC will want to do everything humanly possible to submit names of their candidate for now rather than casting aspersions.


2) PDP submits Saraki’s name to INEC as its senatorial candidate for Kwara Central


The national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party has sent the name of the President of the Senate, Senator Bukola Saraki, to the Independent National Electoral Commission as a senatorial candidate.

The name of Saraki was among the list of candidates submitted to the commission in Abuja on Thursday night.


3) Alleged N1.3 bn fraud: Fayose finally opens up – EFCC


THERE were indications last night that detained former governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, had begun opening up on the allegations of corruption brought up against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, which took him into its custody on Tuesday.


4) Fayose to explain ‘$5.3m he got from Obanikoro’


Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose is telling the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detectives all he knows about the N4.685 billion allegedly withdrawn from the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA).

Fayose spoke yesterday after 72 hours in detention. He admitted knowing a former Minister of State (Defence) Mr. Musiliu Obanikoro, who ferried N1.299billion slush funds to him in a chartered jet.


5) Lagos Assembly scraps Ambode’s Visionscape, orders PSP to resume work


THE Lagos State House of Assembly, yesterday, ordered the Private Sector Partnership, PSP, operators to resume refuse collection and disposal with immediate effect.

Speaker of the House, Mr. Mudashiru Obasa, who gave this directive, on behalf of the 39 lawmakers during plenary, also said that Visionscape can no longer meet the yearnings of the state in the area of refuse collection. He ordered the Clerk of the House, Mr. Azeez Sanni, to summon the Commissioner for Environment, Mr. Babatunde Durosinmi-Etti, to appear before the House on the matter, next week.


6) Tension as hoodlums kill Small Jpron, three others over politician’s largesse


There is tension in the Somolu and Bariga areas of Lagos State after four suspected cult members were killed during a gang war.

Among the slain was self-confessed Eiye Confraternity leader, Ibrahim Balogun, aka Small Jpron, who was paraded in 2016 at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters, Ikeja, for the killing of five rival cult members.


7) Electricity problems can’t be solved by magic – Fashola


The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, has said electricity supply in the country is improving slowly and that power problems cannot be solved by magic.

Total power generation stood at 3,729 megawatts as of 6am on Wednesday, according to latest data obtained by our correspondent from the ministry.


8) Dino Melaye: Yahaya Bello planning to kill me


Senator Dino Melaye representing the Kogi West senatorial district, on Wednesday, said Governor Yahaya Bello was planning to kill him.

Melaye alleged that information at his disposal points that the governor was planning to kill him using some his Aide de Camp, the state police commissioner and the officer in charge of SARS in the state.


9) Lai Mohammed: CBN, MTN getting closer to settlement


Nigeria’s central bank and South African telecommunications firm MTN could soon strike a deal in their dispute over the repatriation of $8.1 billion, Nigeria’s information minister said on Wednesday.


10) Appointments: Ekiti Muslims angry with Gov. Fayemi


The Muslim community in Ekiti state on Thursday rejected the three major appointments made so far by Governor Kayode Fayemi, since he was sworn into office on Tuesday.

State Coordinator of the National Council of Muslim Youth Organisations, (NACOMYO), Mr Tajudeen Ahmed, registered the displeasure of the group at a media briefing, after a protest at the Ado Ekiti Central mosque.


11) Davido Extends Into Motorsports Business


Star singer Davido is extending his reach beyond music and has revealed a new business venture. The singer revealed on his instagram page on Monday, October 15, 2018 as he was seen posing next to a decorated sports car. He captioned:

“We not into music only we do motorsports now so follow @chillingmotorsports for update 30BG lifestyle”.
