I might be killed if I refuse to bail myself with $400- A Nigerian in Libya called family members

The widely circulated video of sales of Africans in Libya as slave hit the internet some weeks back. After the release of the video where Africans including Nigerians, Cameroonians and other Africa countries are been auctioned for sale, several pictures were also shown on the internet where Africans are been maltreated and killed by their Libyan abductors/slave master.

Prior to the release of the video there has been massive evacuation of Nigerians from Libya by the Nigeria government. Despite the evacuation many Nigerians are still stranded or held in Libya by their abductors. A man called Sanusi Lukmon recently called her mother from Libya to rescue him by paying his abductors requested ransom of $400 in other for him not to be killed.

A twitter user known as Demola made this known via his twitter handle, he screenshot the message sent to him from Sanusi’s relation. The message read,

“Apparently now, am so sad for the news I just received, though it not what I should get you involve on but, am just so down that I don’t know what to do. My immediate brother Sanusi Lukmon forcefully travelling to Italy and he was stock in Libya, he just called my mum today that he might get killed by Wednesday 29.11.2017 if no one buy him as slave at $400 or he should bail himself with $400 so as he can be in detention before he will be deported to Nigeria. Finally he was crying saying he is feeling pain because they are beating him right now as he was speaking. All I just want is to see him alive after being deported; I don’t want my brother died”.

The senior special adviser to the president on foreign relations and Diaspora, Abike Dabiri-Erewa responded that she has been getting those calls since her time in the house of representative under the former administration. She noted that just twenty-four (24) Nigerians were brought back then but under the present administration close to five thousand (5000) Nigerians has been brought back. She said with a hopeful thought that very soon there will be a massive evacuation and all Nigerians in Libya will be brought back alive. She then urge Nigerians to avoid visiting Libya with #AVOIDLIBYA.
